Signature Project
The inaugural year of the League’s RFP selection process resulted in a collaboration with The University Center for the Child and Family for their proposal “Strong Mom’s, Strong Girls”: a project aimed to educate women and girls about female aggression (especially between the 4th and 8th grades of school) and resolution of conflict.
In 2007, the JLAA selected a project with POWER, Inc. Through the “Parent Support for Women Returning From Prison” project, POWER, Inc. seeks to provide parent education and children’s programming to families in Washtenaw County who have been affected by incarceration.
As members of the League, we are excited to offer an opportunity for collaboration with another community organization. If your organization has plans or ideas for a high impact project that fits within the focus areas of the Junior League of Ann Arbor, we urge you to apply with the Signature Project application. If selected, our volunteers will assist in the development and implementation of your project over the course of 2-3 years (three-year projects preferred). Also, JLAA will contribute up to $10,000 to help with its success.
The 2009-2010 Applications are due by 5:00pm on August 1, 2009.
