What is AmazonSmile?
AmazonSmile is a website operated by Amazon that lets customers enjoy the same wide selection of products, low prices and convenient shopping features as on Amazon.com. The difference is that when customers shop on AmazonSmile (smile.amazon.com), the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the price of eligible purchases to the charitable organizations selected by customers.
How do I select the Junior League of Ann Arbor when shopping on AmazonSmile?
On your first visit to AmazonSmile (smile.amazon.com), select the Junior League of Ann Arbor to receive donations from eligible purchases before you begin shopping. You use your same individual account log-in on Amazon.com and AmazonSmile. Your shopping cart, Wish List, registries and account settings are also the same. AmazonSmile will remember your selection of the Junior League of Ann Arbor to receive funds every time you shop at smile.amazon.com.
Which products on AmazonSmile are eligible for charitable donations?
Tens of millions of products on AmazonSmile are eligible for donations. You will see eligible products marked “Eligible for AmazonSmile donation” on their product detail pages. Recurring Subscribe-and-Save purchases and subscription renewals are not currently eligible.
How much of my purchase benefits the Junior League of Ann Arbor?
The AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price from customers’ eligible purchases. The purchase price for each item is the sale price, excluding shipping, handling and gift-wrapping fees, taxes and service charges, and less any rebates, returns and bad debt.
I already use AmazonSmile to benefit another organization but would like to change my settings to support the Junior League of Ann Arbor. Can I change my charity?
Yes! Simply sign on to smile.amazon.com and select “Change Your Charity” in “Your Account.”
Can I receive fund-raising credit for amounts donated to JLAA from my purchases on AmazonSmile?
Unfortunately, no. There is no way for us to track individual purchases made by individuals on AmazonSmile. However, your shopping at AmazonSmile still helps the Junior League support its mission of developing the potential of women, improving communities and promoting voluntarism.
Can I receive a tax deduction for amounts donated to JLAA from my purchases on AmazonSmile?
No. Donations are made by the AmazonSmile Foundation and are not tax deductible by you.
Can I ask friends and family to select JLAA as their AmazonSmile beneficiary?
Yes, and we encourage you to do so! Anyone with a U.S. mailing address is eligible.
