To our members and community,
The safety and health of our members, their families and participants at our community events is top priority. As public health and government officials respond to the spread of the COVID-19 strain of Coronavirus, we are writing to provide an update on the Junior League of Ann Arbor’s next steps.
Last night members of the JLAA Emergency Management Team convened to discuss the policy of the JLAA in the weeks to come. We have decided to cancel all face to face League business through April 30, 2020. This includes, but is not limited to, all community events, volunteer events, GMMs, committee meetings, sustainer events and socials. The events that can be moved to a digital space will be and when details of those logistics are finalized, we will share them. Please feel free to continue your committee work via conference calls, emails, etc.. Around April 30th, the Board will reassess and communicate to you all our plans for the rest of the year.
With these cancelations we have limited opportunities for members to earn their credits for the League year. Again, we will notify members on the specifics of adjustments to be made, but at this time, I want to emphasize that members should not worry about earning their credits.
We will continue to provide members with opportunities to virtually engage with the League in the weeks to come. Keep an eye on your email and social media for updates and opportunities. There is still a lot of great work we can all do for the community from the comfort of our own homes.
I also recommend to everyone that they stay up to date on COVID-19 through the Centers for Disease Control, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, and the Washtenaw County Health Department.
Please be mindful of the guidance from the CDC: Stay home when you are sick and wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds; especially after going to the bathroom, before eating, and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
Don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly with any questions.
Stay healthy, wash your hands.
