The purpose of League sponsored fundraisers is to raise funds to support non-profit programs and projects in the Ann Arbor area. Listed below are highlights from some of our past fundraisers.
1998 - 1999
Proceeds from the sale of Sally Foster Gift Wrap were $15,158. The Poinsettia sale netted $14,200 and our cookbook, The Bountiful Arbor continues to be sold by members. The Cookbook committee organized an event called "Cookbooks Coast to Coast", which allowed members to purchase books from Junior Leagues around the country.
The special event fundraiser for 1999 was one of the most successful in the history of the Ann Arbor Junior League. "Celebrating Youth" was held at the Polo Fields Golf and Country Club in February and featured an elegant pre-party dinner for patrons, music and dancing, and a live and silent auction. A grand total of $35,356 was raised by the event.
1997 - 1998
Fund raising events netted $61,200 in 1997-98. This revenue was generated through the sales of Sally Foster gift wrap, poinsettias, The Bountiful Arbor cookbook, and through our Special Event "A Night on Broadway". The newly formed External Fund Development committee also solicited numerous donations throughout the year.
1996 - 1997
In 1996-97 fund raising efforts provided more than $105,000 through our Special Event, "A Night In Provence," our sales of gift wrap, poinsettias, and the The Bountiful Arbor cookbook.
1995 - 1996
The Junior League raised over $100,000 during 1995-96 for community efforts alone. Fundraisers included our Special Event "Casablanca," our Fall Event "Kickin Party," Sally Foster gift wrap, poinsettias and The Bountiful Arbor cookbook.
