Our annual poinsettia sale is underway!
Once again, the Junior League of Ann Arbor is partnering with Turner's Nursery to offer beautiful poinsettias to local area businesses, members, friends, family, neighbors, and the home-bound. All proceeds go directly back into the community to help women and children of Washtenaw County.
Some of the projects we have been involved with include:
- Building a playground for the kids at Alpha House
- Providing parent education, supplies and manpower at Perry Nursery for underprivileged families
- Implementing a new program, Strong Moms/Strong Girls, to address the growing problem of young female aggression by helping mothers and daughters become more capable of dealing with situations as they arise, as well as helping area schools address it more comprehensively and effectively
- Educating women/girls on domestic and dating violence
- Hands Are Not For Hitting -- educating 2nd graders within the Ann Arbor Public Schools that there are ways to resolve conflicts other than hitting or hurting someone's feelings
- 15,000+ Volunteer Hours around Washtenaw County
Money raised from this fundraiser will help sustain all of these programs and more!
Business Orders
If you are a business interested in placing an order, please contact the Poinsettia Committee at 734-347-4082 or print and mail the order form by Friday, November 6th. All business orders will be delivered free of charge between 10am and 5pm on November 23rd, December 7th or December 8th. Please indicate your preferred delivery date when ordering. Please note that special delivery dates will require the addition of $1 to the pretax price per plant for storage costs. Click here for the order form.
Member Orders
Members may fill out their order forms and turn them in at the November GMM or by mail by Friday, November 13th. We ask that all members pick up their orders at Turner's Nursery on Saturday, December 5th between the hours of 9am and 3pm. Click here for the order form.
Turner's Nursery is located at 4431 S. Wagner Rd. (near Ann Arbor-Saline Rd.).
